Sending CSv does'nt work

MarlyMar — Sun, 11/02/2008 - 13:11

I am currently using v1.2.3. I am unable to send myself a csv file. I am fully able to send myself a human readable text file which appears in the body of the received email. I am pretty sure I am following directly correctly to complete the tast. Please note that I have also filled in my email address. Below is exactly what I do to attempt to send myself a csv file. Please let me know where I am going wrong:

Configuration Entries-->Options-->Set my date range for reports-->clink Done-->click CSV-->Select Email.

After I select "email", nothing happens. It just sits there on the "Modify Timers" screen.

Thanks

RE: Sending CSv does'nt work

Hello,

Will you please try it again and send an email to chris@costmosoft.com letting me know the time you attempted to send the CSV file. We will also need the email address to which you tried to send the message and your time zone.

With that information, we can hopefully track down what's going on.

My hunch is that your ISP has restrictive SPF mail filtering rules, which will cause any email claiming to be from you but originating from another server to fail. If that is the problem, you will probably now receive the message because we made an adjustment to the redirection script that was handling the email attachment.

Either way, please let us know.

Thanks.

having the same issue

Gumburcules — Mon, 05/18/2009 - 13:37

Hello, I too am having the same problem when I send a csv attachment. Last week it was fine, then today it creates the email and sends a file, but the file seems to be unrecognized by three different email servers as well as my iPhone

There was a day last week where the feature wasn't working due to an outage in a third party service that has to be relied upon due to restrictions in the iPhone/iPod Operating System. It should be working now. If it is not, please send an email to chris@costmosoft.com so that we can arrange a test for you.

Thanks.

Works well

Sorry to reply late.
For me, it works well now.

Thank you

Suddenly stop working

Atsushi Inoue — Thu, 05/14/2009 - 22:56

I'd sent csv file via e-mail to my account everyday, but suddenly stopped working the day before yesterday.
I have 2 active e-mail configuration on my iPhone and the default account on General > Mail settings is .me.com account.
I wonder which one is used by TimeLogger program to send csv file as attached file to e-mail.
In the other words, which smtp server the program is using.

Send CSV doesn't work anymore

Anonymous — Wed, 07/15/2009 - 22:23

I have tried 3 other time-registration programs, and Timelogger is the best for me. But the CSV option is essential in this. Sending it worked fine until a few days ago (I only send a CSV about ones a week). Now it doesn't any more. Very frustrating. Checked everything and everything seems to be all right, moreover I didn't change anything and it worked before.
Hope this is resolved very soon.

Thank You
Jean

This was likely due to an outage at a third party service provider. Please contact us using our contact form if you are still having the problem.

Unfortunately, limitations in the iPhone/iPod operating system left us with no choice but to use a third party for this service, but the 3.0 update promises to give us a way to make mailing CSV files directly from the device possible, so we are planning an update that includes being able to bypass the third party (which has had 2 outages in the past year).

Please let us know if you have any other questions or continue to have problems. We're happy to help.

Thanks.
