CostmoSoft was founded by Christopher Ostmo in 2008 for the purpose of writing iPhone and iPod applications. APPideas was founded by Christopher in 2001 (long before the word "APP" was something you could use in a sentence!). The purpose of APPideas was to leverage Open Source technologies to make custom software for use in the enterprise. The companies had different purposes and different business models.

Over the past couple of years, our ideas have changed, our focus has become more... well, focused, and honestly, we have found that writing programs for the iPhone platform is a much more interesting way to fill a day.

When we chose the name APPideas back in 2001, it fit our business well, but we had no idea how perfect it would be today.

So, the name "CostmoSoft" will be phased out, but its business and its people will continue on as APPideas.
