costmo — Mon, 02/08/2010 - 12:48
[UPDATE] Version 2 is now available on the App Store. More news to follow. For now, be sure to visit the TimeLogger page. While you are on the TimeLogger page, be sure to download the version 2.0 User Guide.
We have submitted version 2.0.0 to Apple for approval. This is a major feature release, including about 90% of the feature requests that we have received from our customers. If you own TimeLogger or buy it between now and the time that the new version is released, this will be a free update for you, and it should arrive in the App Store any day now. Here is a summary of the new features in version 2:
- Pausing and resuming running timers
- Automatic deduction of time based on supplied criteria, such as lunch and daily breaks
- Manual time deductions from any time record
- Storage of notes related to time deductions, including configured default notes for automatic deductions
- Significant performance enhancements
- Disabling fields in the interface for faster input by those who don't need as much information
- Enable and disable fields in CSV output
- Re-order fields in CSV output for easier import into 3rd party utilities
- More information about running timers for quick identification
- Grand total of time elapsed for all (non-paused) running timers
- Re-start a stopped timer
- Duplicate any timer's data to simply start a new entry with all information that is identical to another record
- Configuration option to start a new timer automatically at the current time when a timer is stopped
- Changed the behavior of the enforcement of setting an end time that is before a start time to prevent confusion for users of 12-hour time formats
- Fix a bug that caused entries from the last week of 2009 to appear as though they were recorded in 2010
- More consistent adherence to user's locale settings for 12/24 hour time display
- Better formatting of some screens
- More consistent user feedback on some screens that require more time to render on some devices
- Grand total of all entries on the currently viewed screen
We agree with MacWorld Magazine when we say that we feel that TimeLogger is the best time tracking app available for the iPhone and iPod touch. Give it a try, and we think that you will agree.
